A H Cheater are proud to be the only family owned funeral directors in Romsey, serving the local community for over 100 years. The company has now been looked after since 1966 by three generations of the Peace family.
Our Romsey office is looked after by both Simon and Michael Peace. They are ably assisted by their experienced team including qualified Funeral Directors Richard Gardiner, Elizabeth Cox and Bex Savage.
Our complete and modern facilities include dedicated Chapels of Rest, set in our large beautiful garden. We have ample parking and are just a short walk from both town centre and the Registrar’s office.
Simon and Michael and their experienced team are proud to continue the family’s tradition with the emphasis on traditional family care.

Company DirectorSimon has been involved in the profession for nearly 45 years and has a wealth of knowledge and experience. He has guided many families through their bereavement with his quiet and reassuring manner. Although still active within the business, Simon now spends some time tending to his animals on his farm.
Michael Peace

Company DirectorMichael is proud to be the 3rd generation of the Peace family to work in the business, joining in 2003. Having been to school in Romsey, he went on to play both cricket and rugby locally and now lives in Romsey with his young family. Michael believes it is a privilege to be able to carry on the Peace family’s tradition of caring for bereaved families.
Graham Lusty
General ManagerGraham Lusty
General ManagerGraham joined the company in 2011 and was appointed manager of our North Baddesley office in 2017. Graham served for Queen and Country in the Royal Marine Commandos for 8 years and went on tours to both Iraq and Afghanistan. Graham is dedicated to providing dignified and personal funerals in North Baddesley and the surrounding areas.

Funeral DirectorRichard joined the company in 2018, following a move with his family from Weymouth. Richard believes it is important to personalise the funeral to both the person who has passed away and the client themselves and this can only be achieved by listening carefully to their needs.
Lizzie Cox

Funeral DirectorLizzie started working in the funeral profession after a period of work experience for A.H. Cheater. Having realised that she wanted to do something that would help people she started on reception, gained her qualifications in March 2017 and became our first female funeral director.

Funeral DirectorBex came to A H Cheater for her school’s work-experience where she found her passion for the funeral industry. 11 years later, she has returned to the area where she grew up and we are very excited to welcome her to the company. In everything she does, she strives to provide a very caring and dignified experience for the families she helps.

Funeral DirectorEllie joined the company in 2018 but has already shown that she has a very personal and caring nature. Ellie previously worked for West Midlands Police Force as a Police Constable but decided to relocate to be closer to her family...

ReceptionistSara is usually the first voice and face you will see in our Romsey office. She has proven to be a caring person, who is able to support families when they visit our premises and has received many compliments for her help.
