Blessing of new Chapel of Rest for bereaved families

Independent Funeral Directors, A.H. Cheater, recently held a small service of blessing, following completion of their new chapel of rest on their Romsey premises.

The Blessing was attended by staff and led by the Reverend Tom Benson, Vicar of the Braishfield Benefice.

The newly appointed chapel of rest, which is part of a larger development of the company’s facilities, will provide a quiet and calm place for families and friends to come and visit loved one’s during their bereavement. The company has significantly invested back into the premises, to overcome recent changes in the industry. The time taken from a death to the funeral service has increased over the last decade, which means that funeral directors must look after a person who has died for much longer periods. Their updated facilities now include a larger and modern mortuary and dedicated workshop area.

Michael Peace, the 3rd generation of the family to lead the business said: I am proud of the facilities we provide our families. The trust given to our team, during such a difficult time in people’s lives is not underestimated and it is vitally important that our services, including our premises, are professional. It was vital that we continued to develop with current trends, so we can continue to offer bereaved families the very best services.
